Aug 19 (News On Japan) - The "Kumano Fireworks Festival," featuring approximately 10,000 fireworks, was held Sunday night at Shichiri-Mihama Beach in Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, a designated World Heritage Site in the "Kii Mountain Range Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes."
According to organizers, approximately 120,000 spectators attended. One of the highlights was the "San-Shakudama Suicide at Sea," in which a 250-kilogram firework ball was detonated on a floating raft in the ocean.
