KYOTO, Aug 21 (News On Japan) - Kyoto's former Thunderbird 681 series has been reborn as a restaurant experience under the concept of a 'FUTURE TRAIN,' using an abandoned elevated railway.
Inside, the restaurant features areas modeled after dining cars, as well as a bar counter and box seating, offering unique original menus.
Restaurant producer Sebastian Masuda explained, “Dining cars and onboard sales are disappearing. I wanted people to think, ‘Isn’t food on the train delicious?’ That’s why we created this experience-based restaurant. In the future, I hope to add more cars so it can become the world’s longest restaurant.”
At the grand opening scheduled for late September, the front car will be unveiled as a space where visitors can enjoy immersive art experiences.
