Nagano, Oct 29 (News On Japan) - Temperatures in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, fell to minus 1.1 degrees Celsius on the morning of October 29th, marking the lowest of the season and accelerating the autumn foliage at Kumoba Pond, which had been about two weeks behind schedule.
Visitors from Tokyo and other areas came to enjoy the scenery, where the colorful leaves were reflected vividly on the still surface of the pond. “I heard it’s like a mirror and was really looking forward to seeing it, but it’s freezing,” said one tourist. Despite the chill, many strolled along the pond’s walking path wearing thick coats and hats, taking in the vibrant reds and yellows that now surround the water.
