Snow Traps Worshippers at Mitsumine Shrine

TOKYO, Jan 05 (News On Japan) - Around 130 worshippers were unable to return home on the night of January 2nd after icy road conditions caused by heavy snowfall led to road closures around Mitsumine Shrine in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture.

According to the shrine, staff opened indoor halls and provided meals, allowing the stranded visitors to spend the night on the premises. As of January 3rd, the prefectural road leading to the shrine remained closed, with no clear timeline for when access would be restored.
