TOKYO, Mar 03 (News On Japan) - Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi called on Iran to exercise restraint during a Lower House Budget Committee session on March 2nd, as tensions escalated following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, underscoring Japan’s commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at calming the situation in the Middle East.
Takaichi said Japan would work closely with the international community to help bring about an early de-escalation. "We will continue to make every necessary diplomatic effort in cooperation with the international community to achieve a swift stabilization of the situation," she said.
She also stressed that the government would take all possible measures to ensure the safety of Japanese nationals across the region, including in neighboring countries, and to maintain an accurate understanding of developments on the ground.
