TOKYO, Mar 05 (News On Japan) - Prime Minister Takaichi met with UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and conveyed Japan’s condemnation of Iran over attacks targeting civilian facilities in neighboring countries.
During the meeting, Takaichi expressed concern about the deteriorating situation surrounding Iran and criticized Tehran for strikes that have affected civilian infrastructure in the region. The prime minister emphasized Japan’s position opposing such attacks and called for restraint to prevent further escalation.
Takaichi also requested cooperation from the United Arab Emirates to help ensure the safety of Japanese nationals living in the region amid the rising tensions. In addition, she asked for continued support to maintain a stable supply of oil to Japan, highlighting the country’s heavy reliance on energy imports from the Middle East.
Amid the worsening regional security situation, Japan has been closely monitoring developments and coordinating with partners to safeguard its citizens and protect energy supply chains.
Takaichi is scheduled to hold talks on March 6th with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, where the two leaders are expected to exchange views on the escalating tensions surrounding Iran. The meeting is also expected to confirm cooperation in securing energy resources and critical minerals.
