TOKYO - Two teenage boys from Tokyo's Adachi Ward have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle and firing aerial fireworks toward police officers at two police boxes, telling investigators they were annoyed that a new police box had opened in the area.

The two were arrested on August 13 on suspicion of theft and obstruction of official duties.

Police allege that on July 4, the boys stole a motorcycle from a parking lot in Soka, Saitama Prefecture, and rode together to two police boxes in Adachi Ward, Tokyo.

The boy riding on the back allegedly fired aerial fireworks toward officers stationed at the police boxes before the pair fled the scene.

Both boys have admitted the allegations, according to police. They were quoted as saying, "A police box was recently built and it was annoying, so we wanted to teach them a painful lesson."
