Asian Games Athletes Begin Arriving in Aichi Ahead of September 19 Opening

NAGOYA - Athletes competing in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games began arriving in Japan in greater numbers on September 6, with competitors from countries including Jordan and South Korea entering through Chubu Centrair International Airport in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, ahead of the September 19 opening.

The Asian Games will run from September 19 through October 4.

The number of athletes and other participants is now expected to exceed the originally projected maximum of 15,000.

More than 40 sports are scheduled to be contested during the Games.
