Kanazawa, Jan 22 (News On Japan) - There has been a significant number of cancellations in Kanazawa, an iconic hot spring town located more than 100km from the earthquake's epicenter, even though there was no seismic damage.
While lodgings are almost fully booked due to accommodating secondary evacuees, the focus is now on revitalizing the entire Ishikawa Prefecture through tourism.
The local hot spring industry is emphasizing that "tourism is a form of support."
Ando Yu, Chairman of the Yuwaku Onsen Tourism Association, stated, "As a whole, Yuwaku Onsen has received nearly 400 cancellations."
The number of tourists has sharply declined, leading to a significant drop in revenue for the surrounding tourist attractions.
