'World's Largest' Slide Debuts at Nagashima Jumbo Sea Water Pool

MIE, Jul 08 (News On Japan) - The Nagashima Jumbo Sea Water Pool in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, opened its doors on July 6, unveiling one of the world's largest water slides.

The new slide, named 'Mega Abyss,' stands approximately 30 meters tall, making it one of the world's largest water slides. On opening day, long lines formed immediately after the pool opened.

Riders on the Mega Abyss can enjoy the thrill and exhilaration as they are sucked into the large, trumpet-shaped course while rocking back and forth in rubber boats.

One rider who experienced the Mega Abyss said, 'It was beautiful inside but very scary. I had to close my eyes.' Another added, 'It was fun. The steep drop was full of thrills.'

The Jumbo Sea Water Pool, featuring 11 types of slides including the Mega Abyss and 10 different pools, will be open until September 30.
