TOKYO, Jul 12 (News On Japan) - Amazon has become the largest purchaser of renewable energy in Japan. On July 11, the American tech giant announced its investment in new renewable energy projects, including an onshore wind farm in Aomori Prefecture and a solar power plant in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
This marks Amazon’s 20th investment in such projects, solidifying its position as the largest purchaser of renewable energy in the country.
The company aims to utilize renewable energy for data centers and other facilities where power consumption is expected to increase in the future.
