SENDAI, Aug 20 (News On Japan) - A 5-meter-high streetlight in Sendai City that is believed to have gone uninspected for 29 years since it was installed in 1995, suddenly collapsed onto a moving car in March this year, injuring the driver.
The driver, a woman in her 40s, reportedly sustained injuries to her neck and arms.
The cause of the collapse was found to be corrosion at the joint in the middle of the streetlight.
