KYOTO, Aug 22 (News On Japan) - Nintendo has announced that the 'Nintendo Museum,' set to open in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, will officially open its doors on October 2 this year. The museum is being built on the site of a former factory where the company once produced playing cards, including traditional hanafuda.
The museum will feature an array of Nintendo's historical products, including various iterations of the Famicom, game software, as well as pre-video game era items such as strollers and board games that the company manufactured and sold.
Additionally, the museum will house exhibits detailing Nintendo's history and interactive booths where visitors can enjoy physical activities related to gaming or even try their hand at making hanafuda.
On August 20th, Nintendo revealed the details of the exhibits on its website and confirmed the opening date of October 2. For the initial opening period in October and November, admission tickets will be distributed via a lottery system. The application period for the lottery begins today and will close at the end of August.
