TOKYO, Apr 25 (News On Japan) - Toyota Motor Corporation announced on April 24th that its global sales for fiscal 2024 totaled 10,273,719 vehicles, a 0.3% decrease from the previous year, marking the first year-on-year decline in four years.
While the automaker faced headwinds from a certification fraud scandal and a temporary production halt due to a Prius recall, sales rebounded in the second half of the year. Strong demand in North America helped Toyota alone surpass the 10 million unit mark for the second consecutive year.
In March, overseas sales reached a record high of 814,105 units, driven by a surge in last-minute demand in North America ahead of the introduction of the so-called "Trump tariffs."
