TOKYO, Apr 29 (News On Japan) - Oriental Land, which operates Tokyo Disney Resort, has announced plans to renovate several areas, including the launch of a new Space Mountain.
The company has outlined a new long-term management strategy aimed at boosting annual sales from the current level of around 680 billion yen to over 1 trillion yen by 2035.
Under the detailed plan, Oriental Land will increase investment by about 14 billion yen for the renewal of the Space Mountain area, which is scheduled to reopen in 2027. The company has also revealed concept images for additional area renovations currently under consideration, aiming to enhance the park's appeal and drive up visitor numbers.
In addition, Oriental Land is exploring the possibility of opening a new Disney Hotel, seeking to grow revenue both inside and outside the parks.
The financial results announced today for the year ending in March show that Oriental Land posted record highs for sales, operating profit, and net profit, with the key challenge now being whether it can sustain this growth.
