OKINAWA, Aug 09 (News On Japan) - Tesla has opened its first direct store in Okinawa, located in the city of Tomigusuku.
The new store, situated in the Aeon Mall Okinawa Toyosaki, displays a range of vehicles including sedans and SUVs. In addition to the exhibition models, test drive vehicles are available, allowing customers to experience Tesla's performance, which leads the global electric vehicle market.
Tesla Japan President Ryoichi Hashimoto stated: "Many people are still unfamiliar with Tesla. We are encouraging these customers to visit our store."
The spread of electric vehicles, which have a smaller environmental impact than gasoline-powered cars, is seen as a way to contribute to the preservation of Okinawa’s rich ecosystems, such as its coral reefs.
Looking ahead, Tesla Japan plans to expand its network of dedicated fast-charging stations throughout the prefecture.
