TOKYO, Aug 13 (News On Japan) - McDonald's Japan has issued an apology over the controversy surrounding its Pokémon card promotion in Happy Meals following reports of bulk purchases for resale purposes, as well as instances of food being abandoned or discarded.
In a statement, the company acknowledged that its response had been inadequate, saying it took the matter seriously. It stressed that such conduct would not be tolerated and announced plans to impose strict limits on the number of items sold in future promotions.
McDonald's also warned that customers who engage in bulk buying or display aggressive behavior could be refused service and have their accounts removed from the official app.
