TOKYO, Aug 16 (News On Japan) - McDonald's Japan announced it will impose purchase limits on the second phase of its Pokémon-themed Happy Meal campaign, starting tomorrow. For the first three days, each group will be limited to a maximum of three sets.
The decision follows problems during the first phase, when a promotion offering Pokémon trading cards led to bulk purchases by resellers and subsequent food waste. The second phase will include toys but no trading cards. McDonald's said it will continue to review and improve its sales methods.
