TOKYO, Aug 22 (News On Japan) - McDonald’s Japan announced that it will postpone the launch of its planned "One Piece Card Game" Happy Meal campaign, originally scheduled to begin next Friday, in response to recent controversy over its Pokémon card distribution.
The company had intended to feature "One Piece Card Game" items in Happy Meals, but decided to suspend the campaign after issues emerged earlier this month when Pokémon cards were offered, including bulk purchases for resale and food waste.
McDonald’s said the postponement is part of a broader review of Happy Meal promotions.
Instead, starting next Friday, the company will provide toys that were distributed in past campaigns.
