TOKYO, Sep 30 (News On Japan) - Asahi Group Holdings said on September 29th that a cyberattack had caused a major system failure which has yet to be restored and shows no signs of resolution, with the impact now spreading across its operations even as the company stressed that no leaks of personal information or customer data have been confirmed.
From September 29th, the company suspended orders and shipments of beer, beverages, and food products, forcing many of its roughly 30 domestic breweries to halt production because goods cannot be shipped out.
Asahi said it is working urgently to investigate the cause and restore operations, but as part of its response, it has decided to cancel a beer presentation event scheduled for October 1st.
