SEATTLE, Oct 21 (News On Japan) - Amazon’s cloud computing platform Amazon Web Services (AWS) suffered a major system failure on October 20th, disrupting services across the globe, including online games and web conferencing tools.
The company announced shortly after 4 p.m. Japan time that an outage had occurred in AWS, which provides a wide range of cloud-based services for both corporate and individual users. According to U.S. media reports, the incident caused widespread disruptions to platforms such as the video conferencing service Zoom and various online gaming services worldwide.
Amazon stated that recovery efforts were progressing in most areas as of around 7 p.m. Japan time. However, the company acknowledged that issues were still ongoing in some regions and said that engineers were continuing work to fully restore services.
