TOKYO, Oct 23 (News On Japan) - Uniqlo will open a new type of store on October 24th designed specifically for children, offering an interactive shopping experience that encourages them to choose their own clothes.
At an event held on October 23rd at a Uniqlo store in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, where many young families live, children walked down a red carpet after selecting outfits on their own inside the store.
The store allows children to freely explore racks filled with about 100 varieties of kids’ clothing and pick their favorite items. It also features “Kids Advisors,” staff members dedicated to helping children find the right size and choose seasonal clothing suitable for them. “In winter, you wear something fluffy. I wonder if it’s warm,” one child said as they explored the store.
The shop’s interior includes fun touches designed from a child’s perspective, such as quizzes about clothing placed at eye level for kids and fitting rooms exclusively for children.
Fukuda, a manager in Uniqlo’s marketing department, said, “There’s great potential for this to become a place where children can have fun when they come shopping with their parents.”
