Kumamoto - Security camera footage captured the moment part of the Hinagu Fault Zone broke through the ground during the Kumamoto earthquake on July 28, as strong shaking lifted the surface of a rice field and moved a nearby light truck violently.
The footage shows the truck shaking sharply during the earthquake before the ground in the rice field behind it suddenly rises.
The rupture was part of the Hinagu Fault Zone, which triggered the July 28 earthquake.
Seismic activity has remained intense around the fault since the earthquake.
A total of 640 earthquakes registering an intensity of 1 or higher on Japan's seismic intensity scale have been observed in the area since July 28.
