TOKYO - Japan Airlines has revamped its domestic lounge at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, adding private workspaces, meal options timed to passengers' departures and facilities for families as it seeks to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse range of travelers.
The airline opened the renewed lounge in the North Wing of Terminal 1 to the media on October 6.
With domestic passengers now ranging from business travelers to growing numbers of international visitors, JAL has redesigned the lounge to provide spaces tailored to different needs. The facilities include private rooms where passengers can work before their flights, as well as food services designed around departure times.
Another type of lounge includes a children's area, reflecting the airline's effort to appeal to travelers across a wider range of age groups.
"We can provide a luxurious space where passengers can spend some time before departure," said Shori Kobayashi of JAL's Product and Service Development Department. "We want to continue making improvements by carefully analyzing which areas customers are using."
