Feb 10 (NHK) - Airline customers often struggle to get the lowest fares available as they have to navigate through layers of options and conditions. Japan Airlines is promising to make the process much simpler.
JAL officials say they will overhaul their fare structure for domestic flights, starting from April next year. The company currently has nine fare classes. Eight offer discount fares and the new system will reduce those to two.
"Special Saver" seats will be bookable up to 28 days before the departure date and "Saver" fares up to one day before.
Those looking for premium seats, including first class, will have to prepare to pay more than at present.
