Apr 11 (NHK) - Sources say the wife of former Nissan Motor chairman Carlos Ghosn has returned to Japan and is set to appear in a Tokyo court for questioning on Thursday.
Ghosn was arrested for the fourth time last week on suspicion of aggravated breach of trust involving Nissan funds sent to the automaker's dealership in Oman.
Investigators believe Ghosn transferred some of the funds to a shell company.
The sources say about 8-million dollars was remitted from this shell firm to another shell company registered in the British Virgin Islands and headed by Ghosn's wife, Carole.
Prosecutors earlier asked her to meet them for a voluntary interview, but she refused the request and flew to France last Friday, one day after her husband's rearrest.
Prosecutors have asked the Tokyo District Court to issue a summons.
Ghosn's lawyer earlier said he advised Carole to be questioned as a witness as he is confident she will not be arrested.
He said Carole plans to comply.
