Manga Madness in Full Bloom: "Yes, I'm a Beauty Junkie!" Hits the Shelves

TOKYO, Jan 31 (News On Japan) - The manga artist Mankitsu's autobiographical work "Yes, I'm a Beauty Fool" has been released today, January 31st, by Magazine House. This book is a chronicle of Mankitsu's 23-year journey as a beauty enthusiast, that includes a variety of beauty tips based on "20 years of personal human experimentation," including daring procedures like cutaneous lifts, fat freezing, and herbal medicine.

Her obsession with beauty began when she was dumped by her boyfriend due to her personality, which led her to believe that if she had been more beautiful, she wouldn't have been rejected. From that point on, she started gathering information, adopting the mindset that she would eat dirt if it meant achieving beautiful skin, and has tried all kinds of beauty treatments. Now at 48, Mankitsu has acquired a youthful appearance that belies her age. Her editor, wanting to easily replicate her results without the same effort, often asks for her beauty secrets.

To celebrate the release of the book, a talk show and autograph signing event with guest Chiaki Harada will be held on February 12th at Umeda Lateral in Osaka. The event will discuss "beauty stories that couldn't be drawn in the manga." Tickets are available for purchase on LivePocket and the official Umeda Lateral website. The event will also be available through paid online streaming.
