Celebrating Two Decades of Rock 'n' Roll

TOKYO, Feb 08 (News On Japan) - The Taiheiyo Shiranui Orchestra is set to release their first-ever greatest hits album, "Rock de Naoshi Best," in celebration of their 20th anniversary. The band, self-proclaimed as "Japan's number one rock band," disbanded in 2015 but reunited in 2018.

The best-of album will feature a selection of their most representative songs from their previous incarnation as SAYONARA Space Age, tracks featuring their close ally Niimariko (from HOMM Yo), a newly recorded 2024 version of "Tatoeba Boku ga Uretara," and last year's "Rock de Naoshi Blues," totaling 20 tracks that encapsulate the band's past and future. The CD will also include special audio comments from the members in honor of the 20th anniversary, as well as a "top secret" bonus rare track.

Furthermore, the Taiheiyo Shiranui Orchestra will hold a solo live event on March 3rd at Shimokitazawa Rokude Monai Yoru, located on the site of the former Shimokitazawa Shelter, a live house where they have performed since their formation. The best-of album will be pre-sold at this venue and subsequently made available through mail order and record shops. The album includes 20 tracks, with Disc 1 featuring songs like "Rock de Naoshi Blues" and "Kōkōsei kurai," and Disc 2 including collaborations with Niimariko such as "Yoi machi with Niimariko" and "Island Feedback with Niimariko," as well as the 2024 new recording of "Tatoeba Boku ga Uretara," plus the 20th-anniversary member commentary audio.

Music Natalie (@natalie_mu) tweeted, "Taiheiyo Shiranui Orchestra announces the release of their 20th-anniversary commemorative album 'Rock de Naoshi Best' (with video)," sparking reactions from readers.

The Taiheiyo Shiranui Orchestra's "Rock de Naoshi Best" will be available for purchase on March 3, 2024, from Yanagawa Records (YNGW-039), and is a 2-CD set. The release, along with live tour information and the presence of a music video, adds to the anticipation for the band's commemorative activities.
