TOKYO, Dec 11 (News On Japan) - Japan's problem-solving skills have been ranked the best in the world according to an international survey assessing skills needed in daily life.
The OECD's International Survey of Adult Skills involved 160,000 participants aged 16 to 65 from 31 countries and regions. The survey measures three key skill areas: literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving in technology-rich environments.
Japan ranked first globally in problem-solving abilities, tying with Finland, while securing second place in both literacy and numeracy. In all age groups, Japan's scores surpassed the OECD average, reflecting its status as a global leader.
Meanwhile, European countries dominated the top ranks across all three areas, with Finland achieving first place in every category.
