Toyota to Launch Woven City Operations This Fall

TOKYO, Jan 08 (News On Japan) - Toyota Motor Corporation announced on the 6th during a press conference in Las Vegas, USA, that it will officially begin full-scale testing of autonomous driving and other technologies at its near-future city, "Woven City," currently under construction in Shizuoka Prefecture, starting this fall.

Starting this fall, Woven City will initially house approximately 100 Toyota employees and their families, with plans to expand its capacity to around 2,000 residents, including researchers and entrepreneurs. Additionally, it was revealed that five companies, including Daikin Industries and Nissin Foods, will participate in the testing.
