NARA, Feb 21 (News On Japan) - Socks from a leading manufacturer in Nara Prefecture, Japan’s top producer, have been chosen for the official uniforms of staff at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. On February 21st, 10,000 pairs were shipped to Osaka.
The shipment, which departed from a factory in Yamatotakada City, will be worn by staff when the Expo opens in April.
Nara is the country’s top sock producer, and a well-established local manufacturer was selected to supply the official Expo staff uniforms. The socks feature enhanced arch cushioning to reduce fatigue for those working long hours on their feet.
Nishigaki Socks President Kazutoshi Nishigaki said, "Nara’s socks are high-performance, and I hope people will experience them and share their quality with others."
The 10,000 pairs will be stored in a warehouse in Osaka until the Expo begins.
