Kusanagi Reveals His Role in 'Bullet Train Explosion'

Apr 25 (News On Japan) - Bullet Train Explosion is a high-octane thriller set aboard Hayabusa 60, an E5 Series Shinkansen racing from Shin-Aomori to Tokyo — and it can’t drop below 100 km/h, or a hidden bomb will detonate.

When an anonymous caller threatens to blow up the train and proves it by destroying a freight line, JR East clears all tracks and races to keep Hayabusa 60 moving while hiding the danger from passengers. But as the demands escalate — including a ¥100 billion ransom from the Japanese public — panic spreads when the bomber hijacks the airwaves and shows footage of the explosive planted under the rear car.

Amid stalled trains, viral fundraisers, political grandstanding, and a chaotic livestream of events, conductor Kazuya Takaichi and his crew work against the clock to protect over 340 lives. But as the mystery unravels, it’s revealed that the bomber is a student onboard — Yuzuki Onodera — whose motives are tied to a dark cover-up from a 1975 Shinkansen terror incident.

With time running out and rescue attempts growing more desperate, Takaichi must choose between duty and sacrifice, as the train hurtles toward Tokyo carrying a secret that could derail the legacy of Japan’s iconic bullet train forever.
