Toyota Industries Unveils Japan’s First Two-Wheeled Balancing Transport Robot

AICHI, Sep 08 (News On Japan) - Toyota Industries Corporation announced on Monday that it has developed a two-wheeled transport robot capable of moving autonomously in narrow spaces where workers are present.

The company has already deployed two units at a factory in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture, aiming to reduce labor requirements on the production floor.

The robot balances on its front and rear wheels as it moves, making it the first of its kind in Japan to be introduced at a factory. On the day of the announcement, the company demonstrated the robot in a recreated work environment.
