TOKYO, Sep 09 (News On Japan) - Honda announced that it will begin sales of a one-person electric mobility vehicle, the UNI-ONE, on September 24th for corporate clients.
The vehicle, which can be used on sidewalks and does not require a driver’s license, incorporates technology from the ASIMO bipedal robot.
The UNI-ONE allows users to ride without using their hands and remains stable even in crowds or on slopes. Honda said the balance control systems that were developed for ASIMO, which was retired in 2022, have been adapted for the new mobility device. Potential uses include theme parks, commercial facilities, and offices.
The company has set a target of selling 1,000 units domestically within the next five years through 2030.
