OSAKA, Sep 11 (News On Japan) - Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura attended an event hosted by Microsoft Japan, expressing expectations that generative AI can make public services more efficient. The prefectural government has signed an agreement with the company and is developing offerings such as conversational support for senior citizens.
Looking ahead, Osaka plans to introduce autonomous ‘AI agents’ that can carry out routine tasks, easing workloads in resident consultations, multilingual responses, and other administrative procedures. The prefecture also intends to establish a forum for discussions with private companies by year-end to accelerate adoption and implementation.
