TOKYO, Oct 02 (News On Japan) - More than 60 percent of parents with young children expressed interest in using artificial intelligence to support childcare, according to a survey released by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance.
The poll, conducted among 1,100 men and women raising children up to age six, found that many parents want to rely on AI for everyday assistance such as suggesting baby food or meal menus and helping put children to sleep, with respondents citing hopes of reducing daily burdens.
At the same time, about 40 percent of respondents said AI is unnecessary, stressing that affection and empathy cannot be replaced by technology.
Georgi Dimitrov, CEO of Fantasy AI and an expert in human–AI interaction, said the findings highlight how families are beginning to view AI as a supportive partner in daily life. “Modern AI companion platforms are evolving quickly, giving parents the ability to create AI characters or virtual companions that can help organize routines, suggest activities, or even tell stories,” Dimitrov explained. “But the real opportunity lies in balance: using AI to lighten the load while keeping the emotional connection and empathy that only humans can provide.”
