OSAKA, Oct 24 (News On Japan) - With the arrival of autumn, Osaka’s Abeno Harukas is offering visitors breathtaking sunset views from the 58th-floor observatory 300 meters above ground.
With cooler mornings and evenings setting in, the highlight of the season at Abeno Harukas is the return of the popular ‘Kakomu de Kotatsu’ event, where guests can dine in cozy kotatsu tables while taking in panoramic views.
Now in its eighth year, the event has become a much-loved seasonal tradition. Guests can sit comfortably at sunken kotatsu tables without worrying about numb legs, while enjoying warm meals and the spectacular view. The open atrium above the space adds to the sense of freedom, and while the air can feel brisk, the kotatsu and traditional short winter coats known as hanten keep visitors pleasantly warm.
The main dish served in this warm retreat is oden—a hearty Japanese winter stew. The meal includes nine ingredients such as deep-fried tofu, chikuwa, sausage, rolled cabbage, and even Kansai-style Akashiyaki. For those who prefer something heartier, a shabu-shabu hot pot option is also available.
The ‘Kakomu de Kotatsu’ event runs from October 23rd through March 29th next year. Visitors can savor the simple joy of hot oden and stunning sunsets from a kotatsu high above the city—a truly extraordinary experience in the heart of Osaka.
