TOKYO, Mar 26 (News On Japan) - The Edo-Tokyo Museum unveiled a series of newly installed and renovated exhibits to the media on March 25th following the completion of a large-scale refurbishment that lasted four years, marking a major transformation of one of the capital’s key cultural institutions ahead of its reopening on March 31st.
Among the new additions are recreations of the "Time Bell," the gate of Asakusa Hanayashiki, and the Dojunkai Daikanyama Apartments, offering visitors a deeper look into Tokyo’s historical evolution. The traditional theater Nakamuraza has been renovated to allow entry into its interior, enhancing the immersive experience.
A large-scale model previously depicting the Asano Newspaper Company has also been revised based on historical records and replaced with a representation of the Hattori Watch Shop. Outside the museum, new installations have been introduced to create a heightened sense of immersion, guiding visitors from the present day back into the Edo period.
