TOKYO - Hitachi has signed an agreement granting it access to "Claude Mythos," the latest artificial intelligence model developed by U.S.-based AI company Anthropic, sources revealed on June 5th.
Claude Mythos is known for its advanced ability to identify vulnerabilities in computer systems. Because of concerns that such capabilities could be misused for cyberattacks, access to the AI is restricted to a limited number of organizations.
Hitachi announced on June 5th that it has joined a consortium of companies authorized to use Mythos and plans to deploy the technology to strengthen the cybersecurity of its products serving critical social infrastructure, including the energy sector.
The move follows a strategic partnership announced between Hitachi and Anthropic last month. Under that agreement, the two companies said they would work together to improve operational efficiency and accelerate the use of AI across Hitachi's business operations.
As cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure continue to grow worldwide, Hitachi aims to use the advanced AI system to identify potential weaknesses more effectively and enhance the security of systems supporting essential services.
