Woman dies after being stabbed on street near Hakata Station, Fukuoka City

FUKUOKA, Jan 17 (NHK) -
Police in Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, say a woman died after being stabbed by a man on the street near Hakata Station in Fukuoka City on Monday evening. The police are searching for the man, who fled the scene.
The police received a report just after 6 p.m. that a woman had been attacked by a man near the station.
Sources say the woman is believed to have been stabbed with a knife. She was reportedly unconscious while being rushed to a hospital. She was later confirmed dead.
Fire department officials say the woman was in her 30s.
