NAGOYA, Jul 08 (News On Japan) - On July 6, a ceremonial ring entering was held at Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya's Atsuta Ward ahead of the Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament, which begins on July 14.
At around 1 p.m. on the 6th, Yokozuna Terunofuji, along with Ozeki Kotonowaka and others, visited Atsuta Shrine to pray for the success of the Nagoya tournament.
Following the prayer, Terunofuji performed a ceremonial ring entering in front of approximately 5,000 fans, showcasing a powerful Shiranui style with his arms spread wide, drawing cheers from the audience.
A child in attendance remarked, 'It was amazing.'
A female fan commented, 'I'm a fan of Terunofuji and I hope he does his best.'
The Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament will commence on July 14. This year marks the last time it will be held at the current Dolphins Arena.
