Akechi Mitsuhide's betrayal of Nobunaga at the Honnō-ji Incident, led to the conflict between him and Hideyoshi and the battle of Yamazaki. In the aftermath, Oda Nobunaga's inheritance came into question, leading to the battle of Shizugatake ( • Hideyoshi Strikes Back - Sengoku Jida... ). All this led to the clash between Hideyoshi and Ieyaus during the Komaki-Nagakute campaign.
