Episode 6 Preview: Propaganda Game

Dec 18 (News On Japan) - Yamashita Koki and Matsumoto Leo star together in the dual-lead drama Propaganda Game, a psychological entertainment series that sharply captures an era in which social media dominates public opinion, with Episode 6 set to air on December 23 (Tuesday).

Set around a fictional recruitment exam at an advertising agency that tests whether candidates can manipulate public opinion to the point of leading a nation into war, the series unfolds as a high-stakes “propaganda game” in which information itself becomes a weapon.

The public square is thrown into turmoil when government spokesperson Shiina, played by Sono Shunta, makes a sudden and explosive accusation, leaving observers questioning whether he has betrayed the government and what his true intentions might be. Goto, portrayed by Matsumoto, and other members of the government team struggle to hide their shock as suspicion rapidly spreads among the public.

The revelation sends shockwaves through the resistance team as well. After receiving an audio message from a spy, distrust within the group deepens, and Imai, played by Yamashita, is forced to confront the growing uncertainty over whom the team can truly trust.

Amid the chaos, the government team launches a desperate counteroffensive, pushing a public relations campaign centered on the words of Kosaka, played by Riko, in an attempt to sway public opinion once more. The release of footage related to the “Canvas Island incident” soon follows, blanketing the square in fear and anger and quickly tipping the balance back in the government’s favor.

Driven into a corner, the resistance begins searching for a way to turn the tide, when a mysterious new post suddenly appears in the square. The message, allegedly released by a resistance spy, hints at another dramatic reversal as the psychological battle over public opinion reaches a critical point.
