Pop Circus Brings High-Flying Spectacle to Osaka

OSAKA, Dec 27 (News On Japan) - A live broadcast was conducted from the Pop Circus Higashiosaka performance currently being held inside a special tent in front of Higashiosaka City Hall, offering viewers an up-close look at the troupe’s breathtaking acrobatics and dynamic stage presence.

The popular circus, based in Osaka, has staged performances at around 150 locations nationwide and is now appearing in Higashiosaka through January 12.

The defining feature of Pop Circus is the remarkably close distance between the stage and the audience. From the front-row seats, performers soar directly overhead, close enough to feel as though they might brush past the spectators. The immersive experience creates an intensity rarely found in conventional stage performances.

Adding to the excitement was a special juggling act by the Apollo Brothers from Mexico. The three performers, born into a multigenerational circus family, delivered a flawlessly synchronized routine that drew loud reactions from the crowd with its speed, precision, and coordination.

Reporter Maya Yoshizawa delivered the live coverage from the venue, describing the experience as “real-life 3D,” likening the sensation to stepping inside a movie. She noted how the performers’ movements were so close that eye contact felt possible, heightening the sense of immersion.

One of the featured performers, Kawakami, who made his debut last month, was introduced during the broadcast. Pop Circus is known not only for its performances but also for training young talent, with many graduates going on to appear in major productions across Japan.

The highlight of the segment was the Apollo Brothers’ juggling performance, featuring Marco, Carlos, and Antonio. Their rapid exchanges, spinning props, and seamless coordination drew audible gasps as they executed complex routines without a single misstep.

Pop Circus has been performing at the Higashiosaka venue since September and will continue through January 12. Performances are held daily during the year-end and New Year period, except on December 31 and January 1. Showtimes and ticket information are available on the official Pop Circus website.
