Four Students Caught Cheating in National University Entrance Exam

TOKYO - Japan's two-day National University Entrance Exam concluded Sunday, resulting in the disqualification of four students for cheating, including the use of a ruler during the math test.

Exam misconduct was confirmed in Yamaguchi and Hiroshima, where multiple supervisors identified students consulting cheat sheets with subject-related information.

In Tokyo, one student was disqualified for continuing to answer after the exam supervisor's instruction to stop during a foreign language test. While in Gifu, a student was disqualified for using a ruler during the math exam, which was against the rules, rendering their entire two-day performance invalid.
