Jun 05 (Japan Today) - Police in Shirako, Chiba Prefecture, on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of dangerous driving resulting in injury after she plowed into a group of 10 university students, injuring four of them.
Police said the suspect, Moe Katsuma, was also charged with drunk driving after the incident which occurred at around 2:30 a.m., Fuji TV reported.
According to police, the 10 students were walking along the side of the road in Odoroki when they were hit from behind by the car. Four of the group, aged between 19 and 21, suffered injuries, including a 19-year-old girl who remained in a coma on Sunday.
Katsuma, a part-time worker, was quoted by police as saying she had been drinking beer and other alcoholic drinks before the accident.
