Jun 11 (NHK) - A passenger car collided with a sightseeing bus on an expressway in central Japan on Saturday morning, killing the car driver and injuring 45 people aboard the bus.
The incident occurred on a section of the Tomei Expressway in Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture.
The bus was carrying 47 people.
The passenger car veered from the opposite lane and leapt the central divider just before the collision.
A drive recorder inside the bus showed the car mounting the divider and flipping in the air as it slammed into the front of the bus.
The male driver of the car was trapped inside and rescued after about 4 hours. He was later confirmed dead.
