Jun 16 (NHK) - Japanese farmers have urged lawmakers to stop officials from making too many concessions in an Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union.
Japan and the EU are working to conclude negotiations on the pact in Tokyo from this week. The EU side is pushing for a more open agricultural market in Japan.
Members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party held a meeting with representatives of Japan's farming groups.
The farmers said the agreement would hurt pork and dairy products.
