Jul 10 (Japan Today) - A man in his 50s, who was detained at a koban (police box) in Ota Ward, Tokyo, suddenly collapsed and died, police said Sunday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6 a.m. Saturday at the koban at the west exit of Kamata Station. Fuji TV reported that the man was apparently drunk and lay down to sleep on the street when three police officers picked him up and took him to the koban.
The man started yelling at the police not to touch him and resisted, but the officers forced him down on his knees, and held him by the shoulders and arms to restrain him. About 10 minutes later, he collapsed and became unconscious.
