Jul 12 (Japan Today) - Three male students attending Takushoku University Koryo Senior High School in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, have been arrested for allegedly forcing a female acquaintance into prostitution, police said Tuesday.
The three boys, aged 18, are former members of the high school's baseball team, which has been a regular participant in Japan's annual baseball tournament at Koshien. The three, who cannot be named because they are minors, are accused of forcing the girl (also a minor) to attract a male customer in his 30s for the purpose of prostitution earlier this year, Fuji TV reported.
At the time the boys committed the felony, they were still active members of the high school baseball team. However, the three have withdrawn from the team, school officials said.
Police said the students have admitted to the charge and quoted them as saying they used Twitter to find three male customers who have since been arrested on suspicion of child prostitution.
